Nancy Leon was born and raised in Prince George’s County Maryland, she is the proud daughter of Central American immigrants, and first generation college graduate. She has dedicated her career to working in her local DC/MD/VA community with grassroots organizations such as the Northern Gateway CDC, La Clínica del Pueblo, and Rising Organizers. At these organizations she led community engagement efforts through advocacy campaigns, youth development workshops, community organizing fellowships and trainings. In 2020, Nancy joined the EMILYs List team to use her organizing skills to prepare advocates and organizers on how to run for office. She is now the Director of Advocacy at MLOV, excited to be working with the incredible DC immigrant community and support their language access campaigns.
