Overview of MLOV Volunteer Opportunities
Youth Program
Assistant in our after-school program: can help with group activities, support students one on one, or help teach a lesson!
Mentor in our mentorship program: work with a student individually for 12-weeks or more to help them reach their academic and professional goals.
Parent/Adult Programs
Assistant in our digital literacy program: can support students one on one during class, provide “office hour” support for students outside of class, or help teach a lesson!
Assistant in our Familias Comprometidas program: can provide “office hour” support for students outside of class or help teach a lesson!
Assistant in our Civics for All program: can help teach a lesson or engage with participants as they build their leadership and advocacy skills.
Advocacy
Support our advocacy efforts: including helping during convenings and listening sessions, help us write issue/policy briefs related to immigrants, participate in direct actions with MLOV, and more.
Support our immigrant rapid response efforts: help providing/delivering basic needs support (groceries, etc.), helping drive community members to appointments, helping community members find housing options, helping community members move on short-notice, etc.)
Legal
Provide labor or immigration consultations to MLOV members.
Interpretation
Provide interpretation services during one of our programs or info sessions.
Process

Within 1 or 3 weeks, a staff member will reach out to set-up a call/meeting with you to share more about our work and get to know you.
From there, if we are a good fit, we will ask for you to complete additional paperwork, application, background screenings, etc. as needed for the program.
